Review – JW Marriott Singapore South Beach Hotel

On a recent business trip to Singapore, I had the opportunity to stay at the sleek, new Marriott property which is now fully operational and sits in the heart of Singapore. As one can expect, from the arrival until you check-out everything is top notch at the JW Marriott Singapore South Beach Hotel.

The entrance is mesmerizing with a wall-to-wall, floor to ceiling interactive screen. As you pass the screen and turn around the corner, you are immediately greeted by smiling and very courteous faces.

The lobby is very modern with multiple seating areas, relaxing music, a unique gin bar and impressive Botero sculptures.

Check-in

My check-in process was very smooth. I arrived very early in the morning, well before the normal check-in time so my room was not ready. However, we took care of all the administrative tasks and they upgraded me to a corner, city view suite at no extra charge. I went on with my business and returned a few hours later to find my room ready to go and my bags delivered.

The room

I have to admit the room layout was a bit odd but it was very nice.  As you entered the room, you walked down an L-shaped hallway.

Once you made the turn, the wall-to wall closet was on the right side of the hallway and covered with mirrors.

On the left side, was the door to the bathroom which was almost as big as the main living area.

The main living area sat on a corner facing the city with wall-to-wall, floor to ceiling windows. The views were spectacular from all angles in the room.

Room Service

The room service menu was impressive with an ample selection available ranging from local dishes to Asian cuisine to western options.

Executive Lounge

As a Marriott Platinum Member, I had access to the executive lounge which is on the second floor of the hotel overlooking the lobby. From the lounge, you could also view the shops and restaurants that were just outside the main lobby of the hotel.

The lounge offers a full breakfast, afternoon tea and evening snacks with a full-service bar.  All of which is complimentary to Marriott Platinum members.

Bottom-line

The JW Marriott Singapore South Beach Hotel is another great Marriott property. It is centrally located and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and sites. There are multiple top-notch hotels in the area but the South Beach Hotel has nothing to envy them. It is highly recommended for both business and pleasure travel.
